You are strongly urged to buy a reliable tire pressure gauge, as automatic service station gauges may be inaccurate. See Second stage: Checking tire pressure. The mirror will automatically return to the normal state whenever the vehicle is placed in R Reverse to ensure a bright clear view when backing up.
Make sure the tongue is securely latched to the buckle by pulling on the tongue. Make another check for leaks. Pull the lever located under the front edge of the seat to move the seat forward or backward. The more you know and understand about your vehicle, the greater the safety and pleasure you will derive from driving it. If the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, refer to the Battery section of the Maintenance and Specifications chapter. Refer to Compass calibration adjustment. Repairs will be made using Ford or Motorcraft parts, or remanufactured or other parts that are authorized by Ford.
Install and tighten the fill plug securely. If a replacement oil filter is used that does not meet Ford material and design specifications, start-up engine noises or knock may be experienced. The dull finish in this area helps protect the driver from undesirable windshield reflection. A four-speed automatic can be acquired as an alternative. Refer to the Airbag readiness section in the Instrument Cluster chapter. Turn the heater fan on in both vehicles to protect from any electrical surges.
Some warning lights will briefly illuminate. It is designed to last the life of the vehicle. The system automatically shuts off after 10 minutes. The use of accessory seat covers may prevent the deployment of the side airbags and increase the risk of injury in an accident. Note: This feature will only operate with the ignition in the off or the accessory position.
Only use cell phones and other devices not essential to the driving task when it is safe to do so. The tire suppliers may have additional markings, notes or warnings such as standard load, radial tubeless, etc. Mixing Motorcraft Specialty Orange Engine. Follow the recommended maintenance schedule and owner maintenance checks found in scheduled maintenance information. Poor fuel quality or water in the fuel—the engine may misfire or run poorly. High beams Push the lever toward the instrument panel to activate.
Inside the vehicle, pull the hood release handle located under the instrument panel. Start the engine only if the vehicle is outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Note: The doors will not autounlock if the vehicle has been electronically locked before the driver door is opened. Gently pull the lamp assembly away from the vehicle. Use only Ford recommended replacement fasteners.
High beams: Illuminates when the high beam headlamps are turned on. To program additional new unprogrammed key s , repeat this procedure from Step 1 for each additional key. To unfasten, push the release button and remove the tongue from the buckle. Once the disabled vehicle has been started, run both engines for an additional three minutes before disconnecting the jumper cables. See Guarding against exhaust fumes in this chapter for more instructions. Turn off the engine and remove the key.
Use both eye and ear protection. Driving the vehicle without repairing the engine problem increases the chance of engine damage. Connect the other end of the positive + cable to the positive + terminal of the assisting battery. Ford Motor Company and Ford of Canada do not access event data recorder information without obtaining consent, unless pursuant to court order or where required by law enforcement, other government authorities or other third parties acting with lawful authority. Disconnect electrical connector from the bulb.
