You can run the engine to keep warm, but be careful. If this happens, let the belt go back slightly to unlock it. Sustained high temperature can cause the material of the tire to degenerate and reduce tire life, and excessive temperature can lead to sudden tire failure. With plain water or the wrong mixture, your engine could get too hot but you would not get the overheat warning. See Engine Oil on page 5-13.
