If thyere is a mechanical problem indicated, then pressure testing should be done. Once the truck is put in park and turned off, it is good again until it has been running for 20 to 30 miles. Problem was never fixed and I gave up. The third transmission is only a week old and shifts rough and studders between shifts like its not going into gear immediately. Yes it has had regular maintance. We declined because we like the blazer and would have liked them to give that money to fix the problem.

Dealers want to replace transmission with new one just of this porblem. I spoke with a transmission specialist about this and he said it is a very common problem with these gm transmissions, he suggested replacing the valve body which he said is clearly defective from the factory in my opinion gm should issue a recall on these transmissions. He talked to a transmission specialists who said this seems to happen on long hot trips, who suggested that this problem can last for years before the transmission would need to be replaced. The is a tech bulliten on this problem, to test the solinoids they moust be removed from the valve body, an air hose attach to the fluid inlet, and hook one lead to the neg batt post and touch the other to the pos post while bolwing air thru the hose, if ai leaks when no power is applied, replace it. There are 'kits' available from the major parts stores to make your own drain plug for your transmission pan. The code means that the computer has detected a fault in your automatic transmission and that you need to have it checked out.
